A huge congratulations to Sierra Bornheim, who earned an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship! This is a huge accomplishment and will provide Sierra with funding to pursue her research for three years! As a result, Sierra will have the flexibility and time to pursue her research program to the fullest. Sierra has proposed to become an expert in avian Quaternary paleontology, studying how birds have shifted their distributions and otherwise responded to changing climates over the past 2.5 million years. She will start by identifying the bird fossils from Natural Trap Cave!
